How could I forget this!

In all the excitment of the series victory, I forgot the most important thing, the ESPN Fantasy League!  In my last post on the subject I said anyone could win and the final table is shown below.  Class always come through. Lol.

So, last night

Well, what can I blog.  For us the realisation came when Will Genia came off, they were dead.  It was an honour to be there and we are all very lucky to experience the feeling live.  I suppose I could go on and on.

Somebody told me about 18 months ago when asked if she wanted to travel to Aus for the tour, she replied ‘Don’t know, it is only the Lions’.  Yes, it is only the Lions.

After the game

So what do fans do after an historic win.  Simple:

You have a McDs.  Then start watching another rugby game.  At half time it was Southern Kings 9 – 11 Stormers.

Paula is at the side of the picture (honest).  Will fill in all the other details tomorrow.  Night, night.

Split decision

On the morning before the final test there was disharmony in the camp.  The girls decided to go whale watching while the boys took the tough route of staying in and watching sport on TV.

So H and Paula had an enjoyable 3 hours out at sea and spotted 7 whales including one pod of 3.

A relaxing afternoon before we had out for the game.

Sydney

Today was a long day.  List of sight seeing to do around Sydney.  The day was centred around Sydney harbour.  We got the ferry to Manley and back and toured the Opera house.  Also as the Lions game was only one day away, we got a couple of photos with an ex-player and a Lions Legend.  In the evening you have to take advantage of happy hour on Darling Harbour (well it would be rude not to!).

Great Ocean Road

We were driving the Great Ocean Road from west to east.  It is described as ‘one of the world’s most scenic drives’, and to be fair, they are not wrong.  The drive took us two days due to the many stops you have to make to see everything.  The first day had most of the main look outs on the drive including the Twelve Apostles.

The second day was more about driving along a road like this:

Around every corner was another stunning view.  We ended up in Geelong where H seem to get on well with the natives.
A nice relaxing night now near Melbourne airport before we move onto the important end of the holiday in Sydney.

Fantasy League

With one more game to go here is the latest standings in our ESPN Fantasy League for the Lions tour.  Clive isn’t even here and he is top, but it is all close enough for anyone to win.

GP circuits of the world part two

Well after being on the grid in Singapore, we could not resist doing the same in Melbourne.  So off to Albert Park.  This time we could actually drive the circuit!!!!!

First check was no Pirelli tyres fitted.  Driving from the start line the first chicane is quite tight, but my Kia managed to get around with no damage.  That is where it ends.  It was fun while it lasted.

Both tracks are strange being road circuits.  Just look at the wide open spaces behind H which look like this come race day.

Similar three photos as last time.

Same place, same shape ball

But that is where it ends.  The following day we were back at the Etihad Stadium for an AFL game.  The game was North Melbourne V GWS Giants.  Just over 15000 turn up for this one sided affair with the home team winning 130 – 44.  It was fun to watch but maybe a more competitive game would have helped.  The strange thing was although North Melbourne won by a landslide, the home fans around us never stopped whinging and moaning.  Queue comments about watching Cov City!
